Roulette Rules
A roulette table consist of a wheel divided into numbered slots. The dealer spins a small white ball in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel. The goal of roulette is simply to place a bet on the slot where the small white ball stops!
The numbering
At first sight, the numbering of the slots might look absolute random. The easy pattern you may recognize is that the color of the slots are alternating black and red. Looking more carefully, another pattern you might recognize is that two odd numbers ususally alternate with two even numbers. This might look random, however, the numbering of the slots was actually carefully arranged.
First of all, the sum of the numbers for any given part of
the wheel is roughly equal to any other equally sized part of
the wheel. Further on, most numbers are part of a pair, with one
number between them. These pairs add to either 37 or 39.
However, there are two types of roulette games, where the number of slots in the wheel is the main diffence.
American Roulette
The American roulette wheel is divided into 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36 plus a zero (0) and a duoble zero (00). A majority of all online casinos use the U.S. rules at their casino.
